Anomaly Detection in Lead PPE

This project focuses on developing an AI system for anomaly detection in lead garment screening. The Mater has approx. 1000 garment that require annual inspection. The potential benefits for the use of AI would be the reduction of the time taken to review and monitor the lead PPE for radiation exposures through custom AI and software. The radiographer and medical physics teams in the Mater are highly involved and early results have been well received and answer the research question.

This research study was a part of a clinical AI research internship offered by the Mater Hospital to a PhD candidate working on Anomaly detection.
