Biography

Shirley is a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon in MMUH and Children’s University Hospital, Temple Street, Dublin as well as an Associate Professor, University College Dublin. She was awarded the Irish Cancer Society Clinician Research Leadership Award in 2020 and has been the recipient of NDTP Spark Seed Funding on numerous occasions for innovation in healthcare. She has been awarded numerous scholarships and research awards and in 2018 she was awarded the Blackstone LaunchPad award for Innovation in Healthcare from NUI Galway, for developing a high fidelity skin suture model.
